lunch

Bruschetta, with a hard k, if you're imitating the Italian (Rachel?), or a sh if you're not. Fresh garlic, rubbed on my latest favourite bread (I received Peter Reinhart's book as much appreciated birthday gift), lightly toasted. More intimate contact with oregano from the garden, then a sliver of tomato (also garden!), before reinforcement with salt and a scrunch of pepper. Eat outside, while the sun shines. On a blue plate.

So maybe all the slices weren't lightly toasted. At least I learnt that (1) bread can ignite if you place it too close to the grill, and (2) the oven switches off when that happens (3) the fire alarm prefers it if the kitchen door is open at that moment.

Yes with a hard K..........But then I am maybe not the most qualified to comment as my italian is still a little inventive and interesting to say the least...
oh yes outside.....with the sun on my back.....blue plate would be nice....a little glass of wine..I could eat bruschetta every day.
